Year 6 Leavers Speech

It is a great privilege to stand here today to say good bye to and to celebrate the many successes of Year 6. Your journey at Holy Trinity began long before I arrived, but it has been an immense joy for me to meet you all and be with you at this important time.

Change of any sort brings both excitement and anticipation but also sometimes a sense of fear. Change is a time of leaving the safe place where “you know” and entering the strange place where “you do not know”.

What I do know about you Year 6 is that the education you have received at Holy Trinity has prepared you well for this important step. You have shown your ability to work hard, get on with each other, persevere and never give up. You have experienced the great joy of learning. You have learned good values that we want you to remember for the rest of your life. Your teachers and parents have guided and supported you. You must go out from here now, be good examples in your new schools. Show them that children from Holy Trinity think about their actions, care for others, share what they have, reach for the stars, forgive others, work as part of a team and most importantly show love and acceptance to all.

You should be proud of having attended a Christian School . As Christians we know that in the midst of all that changes God is here with us, standing by our side. He is with us always, through the good times and the not so good times. This gives us strength and courage to face new challenges with boldness and without fear.

We all wish you every success for the future. You will very much be in our thoughts and prayers as you take the next step in your lives. There is an exciting world of learning and exploration that is about to start. We want to keep in touch with you and hear about the many successes you will have.
