Summer Club
Summer Club, ably run by Maxine and Jenna Humphries, was held in the Nursery during the first week of August, although children in Acorns may not have recognised their classroom or the big children who invaded it! An exciting time was had by all with a range of activities, some keep fit and some chill out time every day. The children can’t wait for next year to do it all again! Click here for the slide show >>
Sports Day 2011
We were extremely fortunate to have a warm sunny day for Sports Day 2011. The whole school walked up to the Jubilee Field accompanied by lots of parents. Many thanks to all those parents who helped! Following the morning's activities, a picnic lunch was enjoyed by all. Click here to see the video >>
Year 6 School Journey
Year 6 enjoyed a week in Wales in June, challenging themselves to achieve many different physical activities. They all relished getting wet, muddy and having a thoroughly good time with their friends, learning new skills including kayaking, abseiling, orienteering, sailing, raft building and pioneering as well as how to organise themselves so they had the correct clothes and equipment for every activity. Visit to the WW2 Bunker at RAF Uxbridge
Year 5 and Year 6 were fortunate enough to be able to visit the Bunker at RAF Uxbridge from which many of the aircraft which flew during the War, and in particular during the Battle of Britain, were controlled. They stood where Winston Churchill stood and even went into the control room. Click here for the slide show >>
Light of Christ Service
The year 2011 is the 200th anniversary of Church education in Britain. Within the London Diocesan Board for Schools, every school received a special candle and book at a service or assembly. The candle and book were passed on to us from St. John’s School in Stanmore. We, in turn, took them to Bishop Ramsey School the following day. Each school contributes a page on the history of their school to the book, which will eventually be presented with the candle at a special service in St. Paul’s Cathedral in November. Prom Praise for Schools
Every four years all the Church Schools in London get together for a celebration of music held at the Royal Albert Hall. Only twelve schools are chosen to form part of an elite choir who perform with a full orchestra and this year we were delighted to be chosen for the second time. Every child in Key Stage 2 was given the opportunity to attend this prestigious and inspiring event and take part in the singing which was all based on the theme of “Amazing Grace”. We know in years to come our children will be able to look back on this event with pride. Click here for the slide show >>
Bible Quiz
Four keen children from Year 5 and Year 6 represented the school in a Bible Quiz held at Westminster Abbey in June. Competition was stiff but the children acquitted themselves extremely well. Click here to see the pictures >>
Fair Trade Tea Party
Organised by Mrs. Harry, this event proved extremely popular with both adults and children. All the food and drink consumed at the party was fair trade, much of it donated by local supermarkets. Entertainment was provided by Year 6 who had learned some dances especially for the occasion. Click here for the slide show >>
Salsa Evening
In order to raise money for a new roof on a classroom in our link school in Malawi, a Salsa Evening was organised. Much hilarity was had by all the amateur dancers, but professionals were on hand to put us right. Thank you to everyone who attended and helped raise money for this worthy cause. Spring Concert
An enjoyable evening was had by all who took part in the Spring Concert, both children and adults. This was the inaugural performance of the Holy Trinity Community Choir who had great fun rehearsing for this event. Children and their siblings, parents and family friends had the opportunity to perform in a relaxed environment. What a talented lot we are at Holy Trinity! Click here for the slide show >>
