Safeguarding
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff, pupils, parents and volunteers to share this commitment. Underpinned by our vision and values, it is our duty of care as a school to make sure all our children feel safe and secure.
All staff are trained in safeguarding when they join the school and this training is updated regularly. This ensures staff are aware of the signs to look for if a child may be being harmed or abused. It also supports them in managing any situation that may arise, including correct reporting procedures. We actively support the Government's Prevent Agenda to counter radicalism and extremism and all staff receive training in this. Children are also regularly reminded that they can share information with staff who will always be there to listen and support them.
All adults in school must wear a lanyard to identify their role.

Sometimes, we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a child's welfare. We endeavour to discuss our concerns about the pupil with their parents/carers first, unless we have reason to believe doing so could be to the detriment of the child. We work closely with Hillingdon Children’s Services and take guidance from them.

Operation Encompass
Operation Encompass is a UK-wide police and education partnership that enables schools to provide immediate, tailored support to children who have experienced domestic abuse. Police notify a school's designated safeguarding lead before the start of the next school day if officers have attended a domestic abuse incident where children were involved. This proactive information sharing helps schools understand the child's experience and offer appropriate assistance, which can positively influence their academic success and long-term well-being. The initiative was recently placed into law by The Victims and Prisoners Act 2024, creating a statutory obligation for police forces to share this information.

KCSiE 2025
KCSIE 2025 refers to the Keeping Children Safe in Education 2025, a statutory guidance published by the Department for Education (DfE) in England that details the legal requirements for schools and colleges to safeguard and promote the welfare of children under 18. This 2025 version, which comes into effect in September 2025, updates previous editions and includes changes related to online safety, misinformation, and requirements for alternative provision, among other areas.
NSPCC PANTS CAMPAIGN
The NSPCC's Talk PANTS campaign teaches children aged 3-11 what is and isn't OK regarding their bodies, using the acronym PANTS to remember key rules: Privates are private, Always remember your body belongs to you, No means no, Talk about secrets that upset you, and Speak up, someone can help. The campaign provides parents and carers with simple, age-appropriate resources and a friendly dinosaur mascot, Pantosaurus, to help children understand their right to say no to unwanted touch and to speak out if something feels wrong.
Please take time to have a look and use the information to help keep your child safe.
