Parents
At Holy Trinity CE Primary School we want our parents to feel involved in their children's learning and fully part of the school community. We believe strongly in seeking to build a firm partnership between school and home as we know this is crucial to children's well being and success.
From your first visit to the school until your child leaves us in Year 6 we want you to feel supported. We are aware of the many pressures and challenges of being a parent in the 21 st Century and we are here to help. New parents receive a welcome pack that we hope will help your child get off to a flying start.
Each year parents will be invited to school to meet their child's class teacher. The class teacher will explain all the important information about how and what the children will be learning and suggest ways that parents can support their child at home. We will also give you a clear indication of what homework is expected. You will know what school visits we will be offering and what these will cost.
In the Autumn and Spring terms we invite you to meet with your child's class teacher to review your child's work and progress. In the Summer term teachers prepare a comprehensive written report, if you have any questions or concerns at any other time your child's class teacher will be happy to talk with you. We do ask that you make an appointment with the school office. It is also extremely helpful to staff if it is possible for you give an indication as to what you would like to discuss as this helps them to be best prepared for the meeting.
Through our monthly newsletter ‘celebrating our successes' and our online photo gallery you can see what is happening at school. Many of our school policies and important documents are available for you to download on our website. The school diary of events is updated on a weekly basis and can also be found on this website. We also write to you regularly with important information or news and we encourage parents to take the option to receive this by email as part of our commitment to the environment.
Throughout the year the school provides parent workshops and forums to give specific information about different stages of your child's education. We will provide you with a programme of these events each term.
We want to encourage you to take an active role as part of the school community. The school's Parent and Friends Association (PFA) organises a wide range of social and fundraising activities. We also love to welcome parent volunteers. Parents are represented on the school governing body and your representatives are currently Mrs N Hunt and Mr C Algar.
As a school we are constantly seeking to improve. All feedback is welcomed and we will seek to act on it when possible.
Many thanks for your continued support.
