Governance
Ecclesia Federation
Holy Trinity CofE Primary School
The federation Governing Body has the same responsibilities as any other Governing Body of a voluntary–aided Church of England school, with the difference being that it has these responsibilities for each school within the federation.
Regulations provide that the functions of the governing body include the following core functions:
- ensuring that the vision, ethos and strategic direction of the school are clearly defined;
- ensuring that the head teacher performs his or her responsibilities for the educational performance of the school; and
- ensuring the sound, proper and effective use of the school’s financial resources.
As voluntary-aided Church of England schools, the federation Governing Body is also:
- Responsible for the preserving and upholding of the Christian faith within the school and the ethos statement within the Instrument of Government;
- The legal employer of staff; and
- The admissions authority for each school.
