Christmas Themed Day

14th December 2020
Christmas will no doubt be very different for us all and it was extremely important to us to ensure the children did not miss out on the fun and excitement which activities in school bring during this half term. Therefore, on Tuesday 1st December, we had a Christmas Themed Day which was a ‘dress down’ day and the children came to school wearing festive, brightly coloured clothes (and hats if they wished!).
Mrs. Rodenas lead worship across the school on this special day focusing on Advent and what this time may be like this year. She explained why preparation is so vitally important and why we must ready ourselves to be at peace with one another and to consider how we can celebrate the birth of God’s most precious gift, his son, Jesus Christ.
"God of hope, I look to you with an open heart and yearning spirit. During this Advent season, I will keep alert and awake, listening for your word and keeping to your precepts. My hope is in you."
Every class decorated their classroom doors, each one depicting a scene from the Nativity story.
The children also participated in creative activities, making lots of Christmas decorations for their classrooms – involving plenty of glitter, paint and glue!
