Hockey Tournament win!

11th November 2012

On 7th November Holy Trinity entered 2 teams (one from Year 5 and one from Year 6) into a hockey tournament held at Eastcote Hockey Club.  20 teams competed in 4 groups of 5, which gave each team 4 games to play.  Our teams were in different groups and able to watch and cheer each other on.
Representing their schools in hockey was a new experience for all teams and so positive attitude and willingness to ‘have a go’ were prime qualities needed to succeed! The Year 6 team scored very early on in their 1st game and this spurred them on to go on to win all 4 of their games 2-0, 2-1, 4-1 and 2-0! Unsurprisingly, they were 1st in group A.
The Year 5 team had a more hesitant start and drew their 1st game 0 – 0. Then they decided to play with more determination and won 1-0. Their other results were 0-0 and 2-0. When the results were announced at the end, we thought that maybe the team had come second, but actually they came equal first in group B,
so both our teams will be going on to play in a further tournament in February.
Well done to all our players!

Thank you to Mr Rickman for coaching the teams, Mr Hancock for driving the mini bus, Mrs Mills for First Aid and to all the parents who came to support and braved the cold to do so!
