Lollipop John

30th October 2019
On Wednesday 30th October, we said a fond farewell to our beloved Lollipop man, John Haslett.  Members of school staff and families, past and present, joined John's friends and family at a Service of Remembrance and Thanksgiving at Holy Trinity Church.  Lisa Mayo from the Road Safety Services at the London Borough of Hillingdon also attended.  The service was conducted by Rev Ann Lynes and Revd Daniel Norris.
John was very much part of our school and local community alike and Mrs Hills (former School Business Manager) gave a heartfelt tribute during the service ... "our school was blessed the day Road Safety Services appointed this caring, hardworking and lovable man who has unfailing obliged us throughout his career" ... "we believe it is the family and community care that allowed John to carry on working into his mid-eighties and finally to end his life in peace."
John was held in our enormous regard and affection.  He will always be remembered in the heart of Holy Trinity.  As a further tribute, Mr Hancock (our Site Manager) obtained permission from Road Safety Services to display John's lollipop and flowers at the front of the school. Pupils also created a remembrance collage which was displayed at the service and is now available to view in the main school reception area.
A Book of Condolence will be held in the School Office for anyone wishing to record their memories of John until the end of November 2019.
