New Mayor of Hillingdon

11th May 2017
Cllr Carol Melvin ~ LEA School Governor
We are delighted to announce that one of our School Governors, Cllr Carol Melvin, was  elected as the new Mayor of Hillingdon at the Hillingdon Council Annual General Meeting on Thursday 11th May.   The Worshipful Mayor of Hillingdon, Cllr Carol Melvin will be supporting three charities during her year of office :
THE LYNDA JACKSON MACMILLAN CENTRE at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre – who at their drop-in centre, give practical advice, counselling sessions, therapy and support to those affected by cancer.
THE HALO FOUNDATION - a bereavement support organisation for Children and Young people, founded by a young mother with two children aged 2 years and 3 weeks whose husband had died. Halo offer support to the families of bereaved children who have lost a loved one, this can be a parent, sibling or any close relative/friend.
THE 1st NORTHWOOD SCOUT GROUP This vibrant centre with over 100 members launched a fund raising year in March to raise the money to rebuild their 60-year-old scout hut. The hut is collapsing due to underground
water eroding the foundations. They are also working hard to raise as much as they can themselves with different  fundraising events.
We are sure all families will join us in offering our sincere congratulations.
