News from Malawi

1st October 2019
We were visited on 12th September by Holly Nichols from Starfish Malawi. She talked to the whole school about the importance of keeping healthy and the ways in which children in Malawi keep healthy. The children reflected on similarities between their lives and the lives of the children at Mkanakhoti School. Holly then spent some time with Ash Class where they watched a short film depicting the life of a girl called Memory who lives in Malawi – this is available to view online via the following link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VrPLQuY_PGs&authuser=1

Building of the new classrooms has started and we are in the process of sending money out through the charity Starfish Malawi so that the floor can be concreted – more photos to follow soon. Thank you to everyone who continues to support this worthwhile project.

The container which left the UK in June arrived in Malawi on 3rd October. Boxes for schools in the towns and cities will be delivered first so our boxes will be some of the last but we know they are eagerly anticipated and will be gratefully received.
